What is Qi Gong and what are its benefits?
Qi Gong is a Chinese energetic healing method that can be literally translated to the mastery – Gong – of vital breath – Qi, or more broadly the use and control of breath.
It is a nourishing practice that uses principles once called “Yangsheng” (massages, rhythmic movement, breathing exercices, meditations…) that come from the taoist, buddhist and new confucian contexts.
These exercices aim to maintain an individual’s health and increase his vital energy.
In our November workshop, Heart Qi Gong will be taught by Sylvie Galbert
After a career as a nurse, Sylvie discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine and undertook Qi Gong training to continue helping others in a more holistic, healing way.
The goal of Qi Gong is to regulate and balance the flow of Qi throughout the body. According to Chinese medicine, one is healthy when his Qi (along with his blood, emotions and any organic liquids) flow harmoniously throughout the body.
Illness arises when circulation falters.
In this sense, Qi Gong contributes to overall well-being. The benefits of Qi Gong, especially on the cardio-pulmonary system, have been scientifically proven: it helps improve energy levels, quality of sleep, flexibilty, concentration, state of mind, vitality and strength, fosters inner peace, reduces the negative effects of stress and strengthens the immune system.
During this November workshop, you will learn a Heart Qi sequence. This specific exercise helps relax the heart and regulate blood flow using the meridians, thus helping prevent and treat any cardio-vascular illnesses such as hypertension, low blood pressure, arrythmias…
Our heart is the organ that works the most, constantly, always beating wether we are aware of it or not. This is why having a healthy heart is the secret to longevity, as it is considered to be the source of life.
There are numerous ways to prevent and treat cardio-vascular illnesses. The method that will be taught in this workshops has proven to be very effective in both cases.
