If you’ve ever felt a tiny urge to draw, don’t let it wither and die as you watch life go by. If it has already manifested itself, even if only once, I would be happy to help you let it go out.
Believe me, the butterfly that is inside you is beautiful when it takes flight!
What is beautiful is not necessarily the results you might obtained, but the fabulous energy that emerges from them, that of life, your life!
Like you, perhaps, I always had a secret admiration for artists, but I thought that they belonged to another category of people, that no one else could do what they did, that almost anyone drew much better than I could ever do, that it was all a question of talent… and that it wasn’t even worth trying if one didn’t have any.
In short, I used all the classic arguments at my disposal to stay in the comfortable limbo of an inaction that paradoxically allowed me to think that I only had to emerge from my chrysalis to turn into a magnificent butterfly while running no risk of making myself ridiculous….
All is there, in fact, the fear of judgment, of one’s own and of that of others. It took me a few decades and a few weeks of confinement to become aware of this. I have always loved collecting the beautiful pieces of driftwood that the sea carries here in abundance. One day, one of them made me want to try to represent it as I saw it. It was my first real drawing, in April 2020. It was not a masterpiece, but it had the merit of existing and inciting me to continue. That’s what I’ve been doing ever since, not always very successfully, but with great pleasure and an insatiable desire to learn more!
If I decide today to share my journey with you here (please note that I have not hidden anything, the slideshow below includes all the “good” as well as the “bad” drawings, in chronological order, without hiding the plateaus, discouragements, progresses, setbacks and hesitations…), it is mainly because I hope to encourage other butterflies to take off.
We all have talent!
As children, we almost all spent hours “doodling” without worrying about the result. It is only later that we learned to be wary of adults’ eyes, of their judgment and to internalize it to the point of giving up the idea of ever being exposed again.
A few simple techniques can allow us to regain our self-confidence and to continue on our creative path. Drawing is a fabulous way to express buried emotions and to free ourselves from blockages that condition us despite ourselves, in our body or our actions.
Emerging from a chrysalis is only possible from inside. There is no model to follow.
I won’t pretend I became a drawing teacher in such a short time, but, if you have the desire to express yourself through drawing, I am convinced that I can help you become your own teacher!
Feel free to get in touch with us to discuss this further!

If you find it hard to believe in the power of such a metamorphosis, I humbly invite you to take a look at what I call my prehistory to drawing. It will give you an idea of how far I’ve come from and hopefully encourage you to push the door open…
